The workforce has become one of the decisive factors for the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova.
During the “National Consensus” program on Realitatea TV, Ana Groza, Executive Director of FIA Moldova, presented investors’ perspective on the current challenges in the labor market and their impact on economic development.
From the perspective of investor companies, the labor shortage and the lack of skills required by the modern economy are among the biggest constraints on business growth, investment expansion, and job creation.
Investors need a predictable economic environment, as well as access to qualified human capital. Without people and skills, investments become more difficult, and the economy’s development potential remains limited.
FIA supports the need for policies and reforms focused on:
✔️ aligning education and vocational training with the needs of the economy;
✔️ developing digital and technical skills;
✔️ encouraging labor market participation;
✔️ increasing productivity through technology and innovation;
✔️ attracting and reintegrating talent from the diaspora;
✔️ strengthening dialogue between the business sector, authorities, and educational institutions.
🔹 A competitive economy needs investment, and investment needs people. From this perspective, human capital must become one of the strategic priorities of the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration.
🤝 We thank the Realitatea TV team and moderator Vitalie Dogaru for the opportunity to discuss one of the most important challenges for the country’s economic future.
