The Foreign Investors Association (FIA) is a non-profit and non-political association from the Republic of Moldova, founded in September 2003 by eight foreign investors, with the support of the OECD, within the framework of a project that aimed to stimulate the reforms and the improvement of the business environment in the Southeastern European countries.
FIA represents:
- The first and the only business Association, representing Foreign Direct Investments;
- Members with an impeccable reputation and a strong presence on the Moldovan market;
- A firm commitment in promoting reforms for a healthy investment environment, attracting foreign investments in the Republic of Moldova economy and an open dialogue with public authorities;
- A unique alliance of the biggest and the most prestigious strategic investors of the country, out of the politics and competition.
The Association brings together 26 members from 15 countries – the largest companies with foreign capital in Moldova, which have created over 23,000 jobs. The total volume of investments – 2 billion 600 million euros, wich is almost 19% of th Moldovan GDP, in all the areas of Moldova’s economy: agriculture, automotive, wine-making, petroleum, telecommunications and IT, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, banking, distribution, insurance, consulting and audit, etc. The Association has investors from: Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Japan, Azerbaijan, Cyprus and China.
