Today, at the request of its members, the Foreign Investors Association in Moldova organized a workshop dedicated to the topic of waste classification ♻️—a highly relevant issue for the business community in the context of aligning with European Union 🇪🇺 environmental standards and strengthening the national regulatory framework.

The guest of honor at the event was Grigore Stratulat, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, alongside representatives of the Environmental Agency and the Environmental Protection Inspectorate. The participation of the competent authorities facilitated an open and constructive dialogue 🤝 with representatives of FIA member companies.

📌 The workshop agenda covered a range of essential topics for economic operators, including:
* The national legal framework in the field of waste management and prospects for harmonization with European Union legislation;
* The methodology for classifying different categories of waste, including practical issues encountered by companies;
* Deficiencies and ambiguities in the cataloging of certain types of waste;
* The distinction between municipal waste and other waste streams generated by economic activities;
* The legal obligations of economic operators and compliance challenges.

💬 The discussions highlighted the need for further clarifications and a unified approach in applying the regulatory framework, in order to ensure predictability and compliance within the business environment.

By organizing this workshop, FIA reaffirmed its commitment 💼 to facilitating constructive dialogue between the private sector and authorities, supporting the improvement of the regulatory framework, and contributing to the development of an efficient and sustainable 🌱 waste management system in the Republic of Moldova.
