Today, the Foreign Investors Association in Moldova (FIA) organized a Business Breakfast with Mr. Mihai LUPAȘCU, Director of the Cybersecurity Agency (ASC) 🔐, together with the representatives of FIA member companies. The event provided an essential platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors 🤝, aiming to strengthen collaboration and achieve a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of cybersecurity 💻.
The meeting, moderated by Mr. Sergiu POSTICĂ, Vice President of FIA, offered a unique opportunity for participants to discuss and exchange ideas on key aspects related to cybersecurity, covering the following major topics:
• The current state of the regulatory framework in the field of cybersecurity, as well as the new regulations set to be adopted in the near future 📜;
• The implementation timeline for cybersecurity regulations ⏳;
• The specific cybersecurity requirements and regulations for the business environment 🏢;
• The process for identifying critical service providers 🛠️, etc.
During the discussions, business community representatives strongly emphasized the need for the government to provide an adequate transition period 🔄, which would allow companies to gradually and effectively align with the requirements imposed by the new cybersecurity regulations. This adaptation period would minimize the impact on economic activity 📉 while ensuring a predictable and stable regulatory framework ⚖️. Additionally, the importance of strengthening the public-private partnership was highlighted, to facilitate the exchange of information and best practices between regulatory authorities and the business environment, with the goal of creating a safe and sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem 🌱.
This meeting contributed to strengthening the constructive partnership between ASC and the FIA community, which is crucial for ensuring a smooth and efficient transition toward a safer and more resilient business environment in the face of cyber threats 🔒.
