Infomarket.md: The Moldovan authorities are ready to listen and discuss all business proposals for improving the business environment in the country

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, said this at a conference dedicated to the presentation of the fifth issue of the White Paper, developed by the Association of Foreign Investors in Moldova (FIA). The minister noted that the authorities are trying to maintain a dialogue with investors, and the White Paper, which is a collection of recommendations on the main sectors of the economy, will help study the proposals of foreign investors and find solutions to existing problems.

Octavian Calmic stressed that improving the business environment will help attract more investors to the country, which in turn will lead to the development of the country’s economy as a whole. In turn, the chairman of the FIA, the speaker of the board of Moldovan-German company Südzucker Moldova Alexander Koss stressed that the Association’s only interest is the creation of optimal conditions for the vision of business in Moldova. He noted that the association principally distanced itself from participation in the domestic political and party processes in the country and focused on solutions to business problems.

Alexander Koss pointed out that one of the most important tools in improving the effectiveness of the dialogue between business and authorities was the discussion platform – The White Paper. Alexander Koss said that in addition to the traditional chapters of the book (tax legislation, labor relations, competition, banking system, energy), three new chapters were added: land issues, medicine and health care. The FIA Chairman stressed that over the past 2 years, the Moldovan authorities have managed to implement many of the recommendations of the association.

As InfoMarket reported earlier, the “White Paper” includes methodological recommendations, which, according to investors, will improve not only the business climate in the country, but also the overall situation. The main FIA objective is to help create a more favorable investment climate in Moldova through an open dialogue between business and government representatives.
