📌 On 21 March, a first meeting of the Working Group on Labour Market Stimulation, established by Order of Mr Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitisation, took place.
FIA Executive Director Ana Groza presented a number of proposals for discussion, including:
– Increasing the working hours of foreigners with temporary residence for studies – from 10 hours to 30 hours per week during one year;
– The exclusion of the obligation to pay the average monthly wage forecast for the year to immigrant workers and the inclusion of the phrase “minimum monthly wage”;
– Implementation in the labour legislation of the concept of “temporary employment agent” and others.
* The members of the Working Group are to prepare and submit to the Minister the analysis of the regulatory framework and statistical data on the labour market, the reasons for the labour shortage, as well as the drafting of a regulatory act necessary to implement the recommended options.
