“The role of human capital in economic recovery and development” International Conference, a joint project of Employers Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) and Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU) was held on 11 November.
The main value of any company are the employees. Both Ukraine and Latvia are currently going through their own processes in terms of attracting labour and providing the necessary specialists and skills. In Latvia, the market is practically exhausted in almost all sectors and competition for recruiting staff is becoming increasingly fierce. Thus, what an employer can offer its employees and how to persuade them to stay on is very important, as is the ability to convince new recruits that this will be the best place to work and that this company is more attractive than others. In turn, for Ukraine, the war became a new challenge in the direction of preserving the labor potential. Ukrainian companies had to reconfigure their work in order to provide opportunities for employees and their families to be safe, combining this with the need to preserve the work of the company itself.
Thus, during the Conference, following topics have been tackled:
- availability of human capital;
- the challenges of attracting high quality human capital;
- employee wellbeing;
- new communication formats;
- continuous training, etc.
