The launch event of the e-AEO Information System, a new digital system that facilitates communication between business and the customs authority, was organized on 27 April by the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the USAID Institutional and Structural Reforms in Moldova Program.
The AEO or Authorized Economic Agent program represents economic agents who voluntarily meet the criteria regulated by customs legislation and establish a close cooperative relationship with the customs authorities in order to ensure a common goal – safety and security of the supply chain.
Entrepreneurs who meet these requirements are entitled to benefit from customs simplifications and facilitation, and thus obtain AEO status (a partnership program between the customs authority and the business environment).
In this context, the e-AEO information system is designed to digitize the management of AEO status and simplify interaction with the Customs Service.
