A technical working meeting between representatives of the FIA community and the Ministry of Energy was recently held in the context of the ministry’s promotion of the Draft law on the security of supply with petroleum products.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposals submitted by the largest importers of petroleum products in the Republic of Moldova – FIA members – regarding the aforementioned draft law, with the aim of ensuring that the newly proposed mechanisms for establishing emergency stocks are feasible both from a physical and financial perspective.
The discussions focused on the key issues raised by market operators, including:
• the economic impact on companies and the mechanisms for financing the stocks;
• logistical aspects related to storage and existing infrastructure;
• implementation timelines and their feasibility for the market.
In this context, the parties agreed on the need to continue technical consultations in order to identify practical and sustainable solutions for the effective implementation of the new regulations.
