The preliminary public consultations on the Draft Law amending the Labour Code and certain normative acts were held under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.
The purpose of this draft law is to harmonize national legislation with the European Union acquis in the field of labour relations by transposing the provisions of EU directives concerning temporary agency work, the protection of workers with fixed-term or temporary contracts, occupational safety and health, the protection of pregnant workers and those who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding, equal treatment and non-discrimination in employment, information and consultation of workers, as well as by ensuring the necessary framework for institutional cooperation in the context of the establishment of the European Labour Authority, with a view to strengthening the protection of employees’ rights and aligning national standards with European norms.
