On the platform of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defence and Public Order, public consultations were held on the draft law amending Art. 5 para. (Law No. 308/2017 on preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing, registered in Parliament under No. 287 of 15.05.2023 and which can be accessed at the following link: https://www.parlament.md/287
This draft regulates the mandatory presentation of identity documents when carrying out currency exchange operations regardless of the amount, and the threshold of 10,000 lei, up to which currency exchange operations could be carried out without the presentation of identity documents, has been removed.
