Meeting of the Working Group on Private Investments

FIA chaired on 24th of May, the next meeting of the Working Group on Private Investments of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister.

The Agenda of the meeting included 2 topics:

  1. Presentation of the draft of the Government Decision “regarding the plans for the training of specialists financed from the state budget, by professions, specialties and general fields of study, in technical and higher vocational education institutions  for the 2017-2018 academic year”.
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration with private sector. Discussions. Proposals.
  1. Presentation of dual education implemented in the field of technical vocational education in the Republic of Moldova: achievements and challenges.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand the collaboration with the private sector in the dual education system. Proposals.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI) presented some data on dual system of education, including the experience of such European countries, as Germany. The numbers presented by CCI clearly show the advantages and positive influence of the dual system of education. Also, in the presentation, they mentioned the current situation and the impediments in the way of implementing this system – legal and functional barriers.

Among the measures taken in implementing the dual system of education it was mentioned the fact the laboratories of a number of schools were equipped with cutting edge technology, for the students to fully get prepared during their study process.

Also, there were presented a few actions and challenges to be undertaken on a short term, that is the amendment of Labor Coe and other legal acts in order to address this topic from different levels.

During the meeting there were interactive debates between the representatives of the business community, representatives of education institutions and those of public authorities.

In conclusion, it was pointed out that as a priority, it should be considered the possibility of getting hired of the young generation, to provide assistance to the system implementation, to explain to the young the opportunities of the given system etc.
