On August 15th, the Working Group on Stimulating and Maintaining Private Investments of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, held another round of discussions at a technical meeting on the issue regarding the monthly fee paid to the Republican and local Fund for Social Support of the Population by mobile operators in the amount of 2.5% of the revenue.
At the meeting, there was discussed the initiative of the Ministry of Finance, which states that the payment made by mobile operators shall be reduced from 2.5% to 1.5% of the revenue, and it shall be extended to all the communications network and services providers.
Also, according to the new Regulation, these payments made by economic agents shall be managed by the State Tax Service, as provided by the fiscal legislation for the management of taxes and duties, to be regulated by the Fiscal Code.
