Meeting on healthcare system digitization

„Health information systems in the Republic of Moldova” discussed with the associative sector of the private sector.

On April 2nd, at the initiative of the Association of Foreign Investors, acting in capacity of coordinator of the Working Group no. 3 “Attracting and maintaining private investments” within the platform of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, a technical meeting was convened, to discuss the integration and implementation of ICT solutions in health sector.

Ms. Tatiana ZATIC, Secretary of State within the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova and Ms. Valentina BULIGA, General Manager of the National Medical Insurance Company, presented information on the initiatives to integrate digitalization in the health system.

The following priority actions were discussed:

✅introduction of medical certificates and prescriptions in digital format,

✅the opportunity to provide remote medical services through telemedicine,

✅the need to integrate the various information modules into a common system,

✅the prospect of using a “Personal Patient’s Office”, which would encompass all its interactions with the healthcare system.

Development partners such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank are actively involved in the planning and implementation of digitization projects, supporting national authorities.
