On June 20, a workshop was held, organized by the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova (CNPM), with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Moldova, marking one year since the launch of the project “Childcare System in Moldova: A Systemic Approach for Better Provision and Promotion of Formalization.”
During the discussions, practical aspects of implementing alternative childcare services at the workplace were addressed, including through the lens of fiscal facilities.
Additionally, an evaluation report was presented, which included a series of recommendations, such as revising and extending the age limit for children who can benefit from alternative childcare services at the workplace from 3 to 7 years (school age).
The proposals discussed during the meeting are to be submitted to the authorities for improving the legislation on childcare services.
The workshop also presented the Orange Kids pilot project, implemented by Orange Moldova with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova (CNPM), with financial support from Sweden. This project allows employees to leave their children in the care of qualified personnel while they are at work, in a space suitably equipped for these alternative childcare services.
The Foreign Investors Association was represented by Cristina Tiscul and its members.
