National Campaign “Learning Together” / Moldcell Foundation
Sometimes, a child who hurts others is also carrying a burden they don’t know how to express or talk about. That is why, when addressing bullying, it is important not only to recognize harmful behaviours but also to understand what lies behind them. 💜
As part of the national “Learning Together” campaign, dedicated to promoting the educational inclusion of children with disabilities and special educational needs, more than 100 students from “I. Vatamanu” Gymnasium in Pîrlița, Ungheni district, took part in a Forum Theatre performance on bullying and cyberbullying, presented by the Alternativ Fălești theatre group.
They were not just spectators but active participants. They stepped onto the stage, shared their ideas and explored different ways to respond when someone is excluded, judged or ridiculed, whether at school or online. They also discussed whom they can turn to when faced with difficult situations and in need of support.
Through this interactive experience, the children discovered that empathy matters even when someone makes a mistake. Hurtful behaviour must be addressed, but the child behind that behaviour also deserves to be heard and understood.
Sometimes, a calm conversation, a thoughtful question and a willingness to listen can make all the difference. Because a school where every child feels accepted and safe begins with empathy from each of us.
Moldcell Foundation is part of the national “Learning Together” campaign, implemented by UNICEF Moldova, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, and Dialog Alternativ.
