What can two generations separated by decades have in common? More than we might think!

At the “Me & My Grandparents” national contest, the age difference was not a distance, but rather what made each team more interesting. Grandparents brought memories, experience, and stories from their lives, while grandchildren brought energy, curiosity, questions, and their own answers. Somewhere in between, there were jokes, team strategies, the excitement of competition, and many moments of connection.

The 2026 edition of the “Me & My Grandparents” contest brought together teams of grandparents and grandchildren from across the country, creating a space for intergenerational dialogue, shared experiences, and learning in both directions.

Two FIA member companies and their foundations were part of this initiative, each contributing in line with their mission.

The Medpark Foundation supported the participating grandparents by offering 50 free cardiovascular check-ups, turning appreciation and care for the older generation into a concrete contribution to their health and well-being.

Marianna Tomița, Executive Director of the Medpark Foundation: “For the Medpark Foundation, the ‘Me & My Grandparents’ contest has a special significance, because the Europe we want to build here, at home, begins first and foremost with the care we show for one another. That is why we decided to stand alongside the participating grandparents once again this year and offer each of them a comprehensive cardiovascular check-up. Grandparents are the bridge between the past and the future, and we want to see them healthy and encourage them to take care of their health.”

The total value of the medical services donated by Medpark International Hospital exceeds MDL 200,000.

Meanwhile, the Moldcell Foundation contributed to the initiative by supporting the intergenerational connection from another important perspective — digital inclusion. In a world where technology is increasingly part of everyday life, bringing generations closer also means creating opportunities for knowledge to be shared in both directions and ensuring that no one is left behind, regardless of age.

The 2026 “Me & My Grandparents” contest winners were:

🏆 1st place: Generații Europene team from Chișinău
🎖️ 2nd place: EUROgenerații team from Peresecina
🏅 3rd place: BuNEandru team from Chișinău and Rîbnița

The Popularity Award went to the team receiving the most public support, while all four teams went home with gifts from the Moldcell Foundation.

Congratulations to all participants for celebrating the connection between generations and demonstrating that curiosity, care, and shared experiences can bring people closer — regardless of age.

The national “Me & My Grandparents” contest is organized by the Bureau for European Integration with the support of the European Union and the Moldcell Foundation.

Through their involvement in the initiative, the Medpark Foundation and Moldcell Foundation reaffirm their commitment to contributing to a better quality of life for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova — through healthcare and prevention, digital inclusion, and partnerships that turn care for people into concrete action.
