In the context of launching the 2025 agricultural campaign, the Executive Directorate of the Foreign Investors Association carried out a working visit to Südzucker Moldova, a member company, leader in the sugar and sugar beet industry in the Republic of Moldova, and an integral part of the prestigious European group Südzucker AG.
The purpose of the visit was to gain deeper insight into the company’s activities through field visits to sugar beet plantations and an overview of key infrastructure and production facilities:
• Drochia Sugar Factory – the main processing unit of Südzucker Moldova🏭;
• Biogas Plant – one of the most important producers of green energy in the Republic of Moldova⚡;
• Logistics and Packaging Center in Alexăndreni 📦;
• Subsidiary “Agro-SZM” – engaged in complex agricultural and logistics activities🚜.
Over the past two decades, the company has made major investments in the Republic of Moldova, focused on:
🔹 modernizing sugar production processes;
🔹 developing renewable energy projects;
🔹 strengthening the technical and technological capacities of local agriculture.
Through these investments, Südzucker Moldova contributes to strengthening food security, advancing the green energy transition, and fostering sustainable rural development in the Republic of Moldova.
