Working Meeting on the draft Law amending the Labour Code and Certain Normative Acts

The working meeting at the initiation stage of drafting legislative amendments to the Labour Code and certain related normative acts was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.

The meeting brought together representatives of public authorities, social partners, and the business community. During the session, the main provisions of the draft law were presented, and participants’ opinions were collected.

The purpose of the draft law is to harmonize national legislation with the European Union acquis in the field of labour relations by transposing EU provisions concerning temporary agency work; the protection of workers on fixed-term or temporary contracts; occupational safety and health; the protection of pregnant workers and those who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding; equal treatment and non-discrimination in employment; and the information and consultation of workers. The draft also aims to establish the necessary framework for institutional cooperation in the context of the European Labour Authority, with a view to strengthening the protection of employees’ rights and aligning national standards with European norms.
