A working meeting dedicated to public consultations on the draft Government Decision concerning amendments to several Government decisions (related to materials intended to come into contact with food) was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.
The draft aims to harmonize the national framework with European Union legislation, as well as to update the currently outdated legal provisions. The initiative seeks to align national regulations with EU standards on food safety and consumer protection by establishing clear requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food products.
The discussions addressed key aspects such as the compliance of materials used in the food industry, traceability requirements, responsibilities of economic operators, and the need to establish effective control and monitoring mechanisms.
Participants also emphasized the importance of ensuring a balanced approach between regulatory requirements and maintaining a competitive business environment, including avoiding excessive administrative burdens for producers and importers.
FIA Moldova was represented by member companies active in the manufacturing sector, which contributed with proposals and recommendations aimed at improving the draft and ensuring the effective implementation of the new provisions.
