Tuesday 06 October, 2026
Start: Tuesday 06 October, 2026 -

FIA Moldova participated in a working meeting hosted by the Ministry of Environment, dedicated to recent legislative developments in waste management and the circular economy.

The discussions focused on the new framework for environmental payments and fees, the anticipated amendments to Law No. 209 on Waste, as well as key European Union regulations that are to be transposed and implemented in the Republic of Moldova.

An important topic of discussion was also waste reporting requirements, including the obligations arising from the European framework and how these requirements are expected to be reflected in reporting by stakeholders to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting provided representatives of the business community with an opportunity to engage directly with the Ministry of Environment on the impact of the new regulations on companies, practical implementation challenges, and the need for a clear, predictable, and workable regulatory framework.

FIA Moldova supports the process of alignment with the EU acquis through early dialogue with the private sector, a realistic assessment of the impact on companies, and the establishment of clear implementation and reporting mechanisms.

FIA Moldova was represented by Ana Groza, Executive Director.
