Launch event of the project on the implementation of the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS), organized by the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, funded by the EU and implemented by UNCTAD.
NCTS will ensure the connection of the national electronic system to the European Commission’s Common Communications Network, being the first alignment to the trans-European information systems. Thus, the practical implementation of the NCTS will facilitate trade between the Republic of Moldova, EU Member States and other countries party to the Conventions.
As a common transit country, the Republic of Moldova will contribute to the creation of a wider area for the expansion of common transit operations, as it borders the European Union and recently already a common transit country – Ukraine.
The pilot project on the implementation of the NCTS at national level is due to start in April 2024, and the actual implementation of the project will start in 2025.
