This important event took place on July 10, 2024, at the European Parliament, featuring keynote speakers Mr. Oliver Röpke, EESC President, and Ms. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament.
Ms. Groza had the honor of sharing her valuable insights on the future of democracy, representing the Republic of Moldova as a candidate country 🇲🇩🇪🇺. She highlighted how, despite the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine, economic crises, and hybrid pressures from Russia, Moldova’s democratic institutions are strengthening and becoming more resilient every day.
🤝 In her speech, Ms. Groza emphasized the critical role of dialogue between business associations and the government in fostering real democracy. She noted that democracy is not granted but is a continuous process requiring investment in transforming mindsets and collective action. This transformation is a shared responsibility, demanding the combined efforts of the government, business community, and civil society to cultivate and promote democratic values.
She also stressed that these efforts are yielding positive results, as foreign investors continue to have confidence in Moldova and are investing in the country. These investors are upholding environmental sustainability 🌍, implementing CSR projects, respecting employees’ rights, and adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance.
Ms. Groza expressed her appreciation for the unwavering support for Moldova’s European integration and the shared recognition of democracy as a fundamental European value. She acknowledged the EESC’s commitment to inclusivity and democratic expansion through the decision to enlarge membership for candidate countries and thanked for continuous support.
