Thematic Consultations on the draft Law on Environmental Payments and Taxes

In the context of promoting the draft new Law on Environmental Payments and Taxes, the Ministry of Environment conducted a series of technical and thematic meetings throughout May 2026, including:

1. A dedicated session on fees related to packaging waste, used tyres, batteries and accumulators, electrical and electronic equipment, as well as waste oils. The discussions focused on the practical aspects of implementing the respective fee mechanisms.
2. A session addressing the new regulatory framework concerning payments for pollutant discharges into wastewater.
3. A thematic session dedicated to the carbon tax.

The meetings aimed to provide a comprehensive review of the draft law provisions, in line with relevant thematic areas, and to collect practical feedback from representatives of the business community and other stakeholders.

FIA Moldova will continue to actively participate in these consultations and to represent the interests of the business community throughout the process of finalizing the regulatory framework.
