Members of the Economic Council under the Prime-minister engaged in discussions on the method of determination the customs value of imported goods, at a technical meeting dated 6th of September, 2017.
Participants in the debates have reviewed several proposals that would help improve the situation in the field. The high-ranking counselor in the customs field of the European Union Mission in Moldova, Rosario De Blasio, talked about the need to bring national legislation to the Eropean one, exemplifying Italy’s experience in this respect.
The business community is awaiting the new Customs Code, as well as its discussion at public debates. At the same time, the business deems it appropriate to revise the current legal norms, so as to make the activity in this field more transparent.
It was decided to incorporate all proposals that aim at improving the legislation in this regard in a document that will be debated at the next meetings.
After the completion of a package of clear and substantiated proposals on amendments of normative and legislative acts in the field, it will be submitted for examination to the Customs Service.
