On September 5, 2025, the designated members from the Republic of Moldova within the EU–Republic of Moldova Civil Society Platform signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Economic and Social Committee of Moldova (CESM).
The signing of the Memorandum, to which all constituents of the Platform contributed, marks a significant step forward in strengthening social and civic dialogue. The creation of CESM will provide a permanent framework for consultation and cooperation between public authorities, social partners – employers’ organizations and trade unions – and civil society, thus contributing to the promotion of transparent, inclusive, and accountable governance.
Following the Republic of Moldova’s achievement of EU candidate country status and the launch of accession negotiations, the European Commission emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation with civil society as one of its key recommendations. In this context, the establishment of CESM represents an essential step toward reinforcing dialogue between the authorities and civil society, in line with European best practices.
FIA Moldova, represented by Ana Groza, Executive Director, is one of the signatory organizations of this memorandum, reaffirming its commitment to fostering constructive dialogue between the business community, public authorities, and civil society.
