Public Presentation of the National Baseline Assessment on Business and Human Rights

Thursday 27 November, 2025
Start: Wednesday 26 November, 2025 -

FIA executive team, together with its member companies, participated in the Public Presentation of the National Baseline Assessment on Business and Human Rights — an event held in Chișinău and dedicated to aligning the Republic of Moldova with international and European standards for responsible business conduct.

🔹 FIA member companies already implement international standards, including ethics and compliance policies, due diligence procedures, internal audits, transparency mechanisms, and measures to safeguard employees. These practices demonstrate the strong commitment of foreign investors to a responsible and sustainable business environment.

🔹 The study highlights the need for a coherent and predictable national framework that integrates UN Guiding Principles and EU requirements into economic policies, public procurement, and risk management processes affecting people.

🔹 From FIA’s perspective, several practical steps are essential:

1. Establishing a unified national framework on Business and Human Rights;
2. Strengthening the capacities of SMEs to implement due diligence and European standards;
3. Ensuring effective grievance mechanisms and continuous public–private dialogue;
4. Leveraging the experience of foreign investors to accelerate the modernization and European integration of the national economy.

FIA remains an active partner to national authorities and the international community, committed to promoting a responsible, transparent, and fully EU-aligned business environment in the Republic of Moldova.
