Public consultations on the draft law amending Law No. 164/2025 on Electricity were held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy.
The draft law aims to supplement and adjust the regulatory framework in order to align it with European reforms in the electricity market, as well as to clarify certain aspects necessary for the effective implementation of the current legislation.
The proposed amendments primarily focus on:
* developing long-term contractual instruments;
* stimulating investment in electricity generation capacities;
* strengthening flexibility mechanisms;
* improving the functioning of electricity markets.
FIA Moldova was represented at the consultations by Inga Pascal, Project Manager, alongside representatives of member companies operating in the energy sector.
For the business community, it is essential that the proposals and recommendations put forward during these consultations are carefully assessed and taken into account when finalising and revising the draft law.
A predictable, balanced regulatory framework that reflects market realities is fundamental to encouraging investment, ensuring competition, and supporting the sustainable development of the energy sector.
