Public consultations on the draft amendment to Law 1540/1998 on payment for environmental pollution, which was drafted as a result of the need to harmonize certain aspects related to the application of the principles of extended producer responsibility (EPR) for packaging, provided for in Law 209/2016 on waste and GD 561/2020 for the approval of the Regulation on packaging and packaging waste with the above-mentioned Law were held on the platform of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance, on 10 July.
The intention is that the draft is voted in both readings in this legislative session, therefore it was agreed during the meeting that calculations on the economic impact on business will be submitted to the authors and all stakeholders will meet again in consultations after approval in the first reading.
