In the context of the Peer Review evaluation mission of the National Statistical System (NSS) of the Republic of Moldova, organized under the auspices of the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), the Foreign Investors Association in Moldova (FIA), represented by Inga Pascal, Project Manager, participated in the working meeting dedicated to dialogue with representatives of statistical data users from the private sector.
The purpose of this exercise is to assess the level of compliance of the NSS with the requirements of the European Statistics Code of Practice, focusing, inter alia, on the transparency, professionalism, and independence of official statistics.
At the same time, the Peer Review evaluation represents an important opportunity for the development and improvement of the national statistical system through the formulation of recommendations aimed at supporting its alignment with European Union best practices.
In this context, representatives of the business community had the opportunity to discuss relevant aspects related to the experience of private-sector users of official statistics, the importance of statistical data platforms, the challenges and obstacles faced by entrepreneurs in accessing information, as well as the burden of statistical data reporting, along with other related topics.
