Meeting of the Commission on the Migration and Asylum

On the 10th of September 2024, representatives of the Association of Foreign Investors of the Republic of Moldova (FIA) participated in the Ordinary Meeting of the Commission for the Coordination of Activities in the Field of Migration and Asylum.

Among the main topics included in the agenda of the event, were:

The mechanism for the phased integration of foreigners, including displaced persons, reform action no. 89 of the National Development Plan for the years 2025-2027, approved by Government Decision no. 361/2024. Also, the sectoral situation and the current policy regarding the integration of foreigners, current challenges regarding the integration of foreigners, but also the sectoral vision and the establishment of tasks related to migration were discussed.

– Aspects related to the issue of “immigration of foreigners for the purpose of work and carrying out entrepreneurial activity on the territory of the Republic of Moldova” (promotion of the draft Law on the admission, stay and supervision of foreigners in the Republic of Moldova).

– Aspects related to the free movement and continuous stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of the citizens of the EU member states.

We reiterate that the Commission’s activity is organized under the authority of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, with the aim of analysing and coordinating the activities related to the implementation of policies in the field of migration, asylum, statelessness and the integration of foreigners.
