On 28 October, the launch event of the regular railway route Odessa – Chisinau – Iasi was held in Odessa, within the Economic Mission “Tourism is a bridge for European economic integration”, organized by the Association of the Tourism Industry of the Republic of Moldova – APIT, The Railways of Moldova and IDEP Moldova.
Thus, the delegation of 77 representatives from the Republic of Moldova and Romania visited the city of Odessa, in order to discuss with the key players from the 3 countries the adjustments to the schedule of rail routes Iasi – Chisinau – Odessa, and the enormous potential of regional tourism that will be boosted as a result of this railway section. Thus, the regular service will start on 12 December 2021.
As a result, the promoters aim to motivate travel agencies to offer tourists short visit offers (City Break type) by train between Iasi – Chisinau – Odessa.
The visit of the mission was supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Odessa City Council and took place under the patronage of the mayor of Odessa Mr. Ghenadi Trukhanov.
