Informal meeting with representatives of METRO Moldova, Food Bank Moldova, National Agency for Food Safety and MP Mariana Cusnir, who promoted the Law on Prevention of Food Loss and Waste.
According to the law, economic agents, food operators, can sell at a reduced price food whose validity expires shortly, or transfer them by donation to charitable organizations or directly to final consumers as food for human consumption or as animal feed.
During the meeting, challenges and constructive proposals were discussed to develop an implementation mechanism for the Law that would be mutually beneficial for all stakeholders.
