On 25 January, during the meeting of WG no.3 “Stimulating and maintaining private investments” on the platform of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of Moldova, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova presented the draft Law on regulation of innovative testing spaces in the field of energy, known as Sandboxes.
A Sandbox is a special regulatory regime that allows businesses to experiment with new innovative products, services and business models that cannot operate within the current regulatory framework, while remaining under the supervision of a regulatory body and keeping the focus on consumer protection. Leveraging modern market design mechanisms and digital tools, this controlled environment serves as a dynamic platform to test and deploy state-of-the-art energy solutions, effectively overcoming regulatory barriers and fostering a culture of innovation.
The meeting was moderated by Ana Groza, FIA Executive Director.
