📌 Today, November 19, 2024, the Foreign Investors Association in Moldova (FIA) participated in the first National Project Steering Committee meeting of the Global Trade Facilitation Program (GTFP) – Phase II, organized by the Customs Service, in cooperation with the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
📝 Thus, the agenda of the meeting aimed at approving the nominal composition of the national committee, presenting the Country Activity Plan for Moldova 2024-2027, as well as the establishment of the next steps for the implementation of Phase II of the GTFP Program.
🤝 Mainly, the objectives of the program focus on strengthening the institutional capacities of the beneficiary customs administrations and creating a competitive environment, by implementing international trade facilitation instruments, applying international standards and best practices in the field.
🔖 In the Republic of Moldova, the second phase of the program is to be implemented in the period 2024-2027 and is designed to support the custom administration in close coordination with other relevant national authorities for trade facilitation, stakeholders and the private sector carrying out import, export and transit of goods activities.
