On 19 November 2025, the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova officially launched a new Twinning Project aimed at strengthening the institutional and operational capacities of the State Labour Inspectorate (ISM).
The EU-funded initiative, with a budget of EUR 1.5 million and a duration of 30 months, is designed to support ISM in aligning its processes and practices with European Union standards and the principles of the International Labour Organization. The project focuses on key areas including occupational safety and health, combatting undeclared work, and preventing labor exploitation.
The launch event brought together representatives of central public authorities, international partners, and stakeholders from the business community. FIA Moldova was represented by its member companies, reaffirming the Association’s ongoing commitment to initiatives that enhance the regulatory and institutional framework of the labor market.
This Twinning initiative represents a significant step forward in Moldova’s commitment to improving labor standards, strengthening enforcement mechanisms, and promoting a transparent and responsible labor market.
