On 15 December 2025, the launch event of Study 4.0, entitled “The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on the Economy of the Republic of Moldova (2015–2024)”, took place.
The study was prepared by BIS Consulting, at the initiative of the Foreign Investors Association of Moldova (FIA), in partnership with the Investment Agency of Moldova, and provides updated data on the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the national economy. The analysis highlights the essential role of FDI in supporting 🌱 sustainable economic development and 🚀 the competitiveness of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the study’s conclusions, the structure of FDI flows in 2024 confirms a structural shift in the way foreign investments are financed:
🔹 new capital inflows remain at a low level,
🔹 intra-group debt plays a secondary and volatile role,
🔹 while reinvested earnings have become the main source of FDI growth in the Republic of Moldova.
