EU4Climate National Workshop

On June 16th, FIA representative participated to the National consultative workshop on climate change mainstreaming into the waste sector’s policies, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, in partnership with UNDP Moldova. The event was organized within the EU4Climate regional project, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP.

The consultative workshop objectives were:

  1. To consult and collect input on the recommendations for mainstreaming climate change into the relevant sectoral documents, legislation, regulations, missing pieces of policy and strategy; and
  2. To conduct working sessions to create a checklist for major waste sector investment projects to be screened against climate change considerations.

The workshop was also an opportunity for awareness raising regarding the international policy context and best practices for mainstreaming climate change issues into the waste sector.
