This week, the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) convened a regular session of its Dispute Resolution Council. The meeting primarily focused on reviewing several preliminary appeals submitted by a company operating in the sector of laying hens, in the context of the detection of metronidazole residues in poultry meat products marketed by the economic agent.
The economic operator requested the annulment of inspection findings issued by ANSA in its capacity as the competent regulatory authority. Council members carefully examined the submitted documentation and considered explanations provided by the Inspectorate’s representatives. The session included in-depth technical and legal discussions, aimed at clarifying the issues raised and determining a resolution in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework.
The participation of the business community in such councils is essential to ensure that regulatory procedures are applied fairly, transparently, and consistently, thereby reinforcing trust and confidence in the institutional system.
FIA Moldova was represented at the meeting by Ana Groza, Executive Director.
