FIA members met on March 25 the Minister of Finance, Mr. Dumitru Budianschi, for a business breakfast.
During the meeting, the participants addressed issues related to the need to develop specific policies for investment development, job creation and maintenance; management of NHIC funds; the activity of shops in duty free regime, in the context of the new Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova; packaging fee and implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility; increasing access to jobs in terms of supporting employees and others. The parties also discussed the impact of foreign direct investment on the economy of the Republic of Moldova, including their contributions to the formation of the state budget, conclusions formulated in the Study prepared by the Association.
In the context of what was discussed, Minister Budianschi expressed his openness to cooperation with the business environment and mentioned the need to maintain a constructive dialogue between the authorities and the business environment.
In turn, the present FIA members expressed their willingness to actively contribute, through expertise and concrete proposals, to the adjustment of the existing investment framework.
