Regular informal meetings to ensure open communication with authorities and identify priorities for joint collaboration.
FIA members met on 6 April with the Minister of Finance, Ms Veronica Sirețeanu – Ministrul Finanțelor and the State Secretary, Ms Olga Golban for a business breakfast.
During the meeting, the participants expressed their interest in the Ministry’s medium and long-term plans, visions and strategies.
FIA members discussed topics related to the need to develop policies for attracting investments, creating and maintaining jobs; provisions of the new Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova; packaging tax and implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility; measures to increase access to and maintenance of jobs and others.
The parties also discussed the impact of foreign direct investment on the Moldovan economy, including its contribution to the formation of the state budget, conclusions formulated in the Study prepared by the Association.
Ms Sireteanu expressed her openness to constant cooperation with the business and mentioned the need to maintain a permanent dialogue between the authorities and the business community.
For their part, FIA members expressed their willingness to contribute, through their expertise and concrete proposals, to the adjustment of the existing investment framework.
