Lean Basic Training – Draexlmaier Moldova
The Continuous Improvement Department in BΔlΘi has carried out an ambitious project to train administrative staff in Lean principles. The main goal of this project was to develop the necessary skills for analyzing and optimizing work processes, as well as increasing individual responsibility. π‘
The Lean concept, or Lean Production, originated in 1948 when Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo began developing the Toyota Production System. Its purpose is to provide tools for identifying waste and methods for improving the efficiency of production processes. π
The training was divided into 2 modules:
β’ Theoretical Part β where participants learned about the 4 Lean principles and the 9 types of waste π
β’ Practical Part β where the knowledge gained was applied to improve the Lego car production processes π οΈ
Practical Simulation β Applying Knowledge in Work π
At the initial stage, the training participants had limited knowledge of Lean. As a result, the Lego car production process was chaotic β difficulties appeared both in managing the production flow and in managing the time allocated for the task. β³
It is impressive how the teams were able to apply their theoretical knowledge and prior experience to optimize the production flow. Improving teamwork cooperation was essential to meet the client’s demands and achieve the desired financial results. π€
Training Results π
Participants had a very positive outlook on the concept. Combining trial-and-error methods with the analysis and implementation of theoretical material, all 33 teams successfully completed the challenge βDeliver on Time!β provided by the Continuous Improvement Department. π
