Digital inclusion for social services and e-health in rural areas – Moldcell
Digital inclusion for social services and e-health in rural areas from Moldova📱🏥
Moldcell, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Moldova) and the Future Technologies Project (Innovate Moldova) have started training in the pilot project “Digital Inclusion for Social Services and e-Health”.
In the first phase, elderly people in two rural localities were trained by Moldcell volunteers how to use the new application that gives them access to online consultations, medical opinions and psychological sessions.
The pilot project offers 3 free sessions of primary counselling and advice services via the phones, which were previously donated to 630 older people as part of the “Digital Skills Connecting Generations” project, funded by UNFPA Moldova, Moldcell Foundation, Czech Republic and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (Swiss Cooperation in Moldova), and carried out by HelpAge International Moldova in partnership with the Moldovan Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
The project aims to promote online health advice in the Republic of Moldova and improve access to health services for people living in isolated rural areas.
