The winning team from Balti, Moldova shows how social sustainability can be successfully practiced. The team of Ioana Vintiloiu, Vadim Bubulici and Peter Hummel, together with several universities, successfully applied for two Erasmus+ projects (NEEDEDU and DIGTRANS) to strengthen the education system in Moldova. This ambitious project integrates research and education to give students the opportunity to conduct research at partner universities and companies.
“This year’s winning project in the Sustainability category is a good example of how much positive change can be achieved with a sustainability project in the education sector,” said Daniel Ostner, Head of Sustainability, in his congratulatory speech.

Ostner emphasized a major benefit: “A country’s education can be sustainably improved through the joint efforts of educational institutions and factories – primarily for the benefit of the people of that country.
