With the evolving situation in Ukraine and its ongoing and potential social and economic implications on the Republic of Moldova, UNDP started re-convening the Socio-Economic Impact Taskforce Meetings on a bi-weekly basis, starting Thursday, 10 March 2022.
The Taskforce will act as a platform for UN Agencies, development partners and national counterparts for the discussion of the latest analysis and undertakings addressing the short, medium, and longer term social and economic impacts on the Republic of Moldova.
Given the role of the state Chancellery as the Single Crisis Management Center for the coordination of assistance for the crisis, we will be co-convening the meetings jointly and we would aim for the active participation of relevant Government entities namely the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, to ensure the alignment of the outcomes with the Government priorities and plans.
The first meeting was proposed to cover the following agenda items:
- Short opening by UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative
- Overview of the country expected social and economic implications – Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection
- Presentation on the planned Socio-Economic foresight analysis – UNDP
