On October 7, 2024, Mrs. Ana Groza – Executive Director of the Association of Foreign Investors in Moldova (FIA) participated in a tripartite round table organized by the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CNSM), in cooperation with the International Labor Organization ( ILO), in the context of marking the World Decent Work Day.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the employment situation in the Republic of Moldova and the challenges faced by the workforce. At the same time, the main challenges hindering the country’s aspirations in providing workers with decent work were highlighted, such as:
- Difficulty in finding a stable job.
- Workers’ rights and interests are often ignored, and cases of discrimination and harassment are still common.
- Working conditions do not meet occupational health and safety requirements, including international and European standards.
- The social protection system remains insufficient to ensure a decent living, especially in old age.
- The level of work appreciation and motivation is clearly below the needs of workers and their families.
