Today, the 24th of September 2024, representatives of the Association of Foreign Investors in the Republic of Moldova (FIA), together with experts from FIA member companies, participated in the Conference “Capitalization of EFTA Export Markets: Opportunities and Perspectives”, an event organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in partnership with USAID Moldova and Moldova PRO Reforme.
The event covered a wide range of topics, with a focus on the characteristics of EFTA markets, their import potential and categories of Moldovan goods that could attract the interest of importers from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, as well as the experiences of Moldovan companies exporting to the EFTA markets were presented.
Moldovan exporters will thus have easier access to trade opportunities on EFTA markets (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland), thanks to the new Agreement signed with the European Free Trade Association and ratified this year by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. This agreement creates new economic opportunities for Moldova, including the elimination of customs duties on the import of industrial and agricultural products to EFTA markets.
The Guide on Exporting to EFTA countries was also presented during the event, which provides for Moldovan exporters interested in exploring the opportunities offered by EFTA markets, essential information on market access and doing business in the EFTA economic space.
